At Southern Cross Grammar, our approach to teaching and learning is grounded in evidence-based practice and a commitment to ensuring every student achieves their full academic potential.
We are proud of our culture of high expectations, where learning is purposeful, explicit, and supported by research.
Lessons are structured with clear intentions, direct teaching, guided practice, and opportunities for independent application. Teachers regularly collaborate to analyse data, evaluate progress, and refine their practice, ensuring that every student is both challenged and supported.
We also recognise that academic achievement flourishes when paired with wellbeing. By fostering strong relationships and an inclusive, safe environment, we empower students to become confident, resilient, and motivated learners ready to contribute meaningfully beyond the classroom.
At Southern Cross Grammar, we believe that continuous improvement comes from clarity of purpose, evidence-based practice, and strong relationships. Together, our teachers and students set ambitious goals and pursue them with determination.

Years 11–12 (VCE)
The Senior School represents the culmination of each student’s learning journey at Southern Cross Grammar.
Students consolidate their knowledge and apply their skills through the Victorian Certificate of Education (VCE), supported by expert teaching, structured learning, and strong pastoral care.
Comprehensive pathways and course counselling ensure students select programs that align with their strengths, interests, and future aspirations. Whether they pursue university study, vocational education, or other pathways, each student receives individualised guidance and support to reach their goals.
Learning in the Senior School is defined by rigour, collaboration, and accountability. Students also engage in leadership, community service, and extracurricular opportunities that promote balance and wellbeing.
