Southern Cross Grammar Certified as a Great Place to Work

Southern Cross Grammar (SCG) has been Certified™ as a Great Place To Work®.

Great Place To Work® is the global authority on workplace culture and is recognised worldwide by employees and employers alike as the global benchmark for identifying and recognising employee experience.

A Great Place To Work® certification is awarded to workplaces who have built cultures of high-trust and high-performance and who rank highly across four key areas of leadership, experience, culture, and performance.

“At Southern Cross Grammar, our people are at the heart of everything we do,” Jennifer Turner, Executive Director of People and Culture, said. “The People and Culture Team are incredibly proud that our school has been certified as a Great Place To Work®. This recognition is especially meaningful as it is based entirely on the voices and experience of our staff.”

Survey responses highlighted a strong, values-driven culture built on inclusion, respect, purpose, and genuine connection.

“Our certification reflects the collective contribution of every member of our community,” Jennifer said. “It is encouraging to see staff reporting high levels of pride in their work, strong relationships with colleagues, and a workplace where people feel safe, valued, and supported.”

Sarah Lewis-Kulin, the Vice President of Global Recognition at Great Place To Work said: “[The] Great Place To Work Certification is a highly coveted achievement that requires consistent and intentional dedication to the overall employee experience.

“By successfully earning this recognition, it is evident that Southern Cross Grammar stands out as one of the top companies to work for, providing a great workplace environment for its employees”

As a deliberately medium sized Foundation-Year 12 co-educational school located on a single campus, strong relationships and evidence-based teaching and professional practice defines SCG.

Our unique footprint provides us to be a school where students matter, are known, and are developed to be people who make a difference in the world.

This work begins with our staff.

Guided by our values and 2026-2030 Strategic Plan Forward Together, we believe that when our educators and professional staff are truly known, supported, and inspired, our students and community flourish.

Danielle Andrews, People and Culture Manager, said: “At SCG our staff matter because every individual journey matters—from their first interaction with us through to supporting their wellbeing and career growth. We are committed to truly knowing our people and supporting them in a way that reflects their strengths, aspirations, and the meaningful contribution they make to our community.

Jennifer added, “A strong workplace culture is built through shared purpose, trust, and genuine connection. The foundation we have created together positions us well for the future, and I am excited about continuing to foster an environment where people can thrive, grow, and do their best work for our students and each other.”
